Midland Mayhem Rulespack 20141.IntroductIonWelcome to the rulespack for what is to be the second edition of Midland Mayhem, an ETC-style Team Tournament for Warhammer 40K players. Confirmed Teams this year are Germany, France, Holland and of course the Belgian Team. The idea is to get together for some competitive gaming but also to socialise a bit over the weekend.
2. Event DetailsThe event will be held at “Zaal De Kring” in Kessel-Lo near Leuven on Saturday and Sunday June 7th and 8th 2014 . Entry fee will be 40 € per player. This covers the expense of renting the venue, and includes a warm meal on Saturday and Sunday (generally meatballs and a spaghetti/carbonara or the likes) and some snacks (apples, oranges, waffles, …). Drinks will be provided over the weekend at very democratic
prices (0,5 € for a coca cola, coffee, …). The idea here is to provide for you as best as we can so there's no need to spend more money (or time) going out for food and drinks.
Location:Zaal De Kring

Last year the idea was to have two days of three games each, but everyone can attest that this is exhausting, and opportunities like this should be taken to increase the 'beer and pretzel' level and to take time for friendly banter and fun as well. Getting into shape for the ETC is the prime target, but including the necessary room for relaxed games (hence the long timespan per battle) and a certain amount for socialising with each other is also important. The idea is to rent a floor of a local pub for Saturday evening where we can all get together grabbing beers and having fun. For those interested we can go out in Leuven, which is a quite small but cosy student city. The city center and the old market, full of small pubs, is an excellent site to go out and have a couple of beers with friends. It is also within walking distance (10-15 minutes) from the venue and most hotels.

If some teams or teammembers would like to increase the amount of games to make it more worth their while, please say so, we can accomodate! But we like to account for enough time a long drive back for some teams as well which is why the tournament is scheduled to have such an early end. Upon request we can accomodate for at least 4, maybe 5 games for those teams that would like to do so. Just let us know in advance if such is the case!
4. Hotel StayLike stated above, Leuven is a small student city, but attracts lots of tourists because of its charming nature. As such there are a slew of Hotels near the venue or not far from the city center. Venue – Station
is ten minutes walk, while Station – City Center is another 15 minute walk. Leuven ain't all that big so you cannot go wrong really if you don't mind walking a little. We recommend any of the following:

5. Tournament rulesRulespackWe use the ETC Rulespack.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3x-iNml9H_TS1R1a01lOHJZcUU/edit?usp=sharingRefereesThe Tournament will not be officiated by Referees. In case players have an issue during the battles, they can agree how to solve a situation, or consult their captains. In case they cannot agree on the matter, a
combined captains consultation is to offer a solution. In case a situation arises that has not been taken up into the ETC Clarif document, please communicate it to Tom.
ArmiesArmies need to be fully painted and respect WYSIWYG. If such is not the case, please notify your opponent before the start of the game to avoid any confusion.
List SubmissionLists must be Tom by Friday May 30th. Lists will then be distributed to the Captains/Spokespersons of the Teams so pairing analysis can be done by those team that fancy such. Each country is free to check the lists for errors. No penalties apply but of course mistakes need to be corrected.
ScoringGame points scored by each player for his team are cumulated from Mission scoring and Army points scoring (old VPs). An exception is that a tabling player gets 20 game points, a tabled player get 0 game points.
Each player count their mission points, subtracts the opponent's mission points and consults the table below to see what score they get. After that, the difference in army points killed will further deepen or narrow the margin of victory/defeat.
Game Points Modifier Army Points ModifierDifference in MP's Winner GP's Loser GP's Difference in Army
Points Winner GP's Loser GP's
0 10 10 0-350 +0 -0
1-2 11 9 351-700 +1 1
3-4 12 8 701-1050 +2 -2
5-6 13 7 1051+ +3 -3
7-8 14 6 4 0
9-10 15 5
11-12 16 4
13+ 17 3
Apart from the missions points specified in the missions (which translate into game points in the terms of this rulespack), when you achieve First Blood, Slay The Warlord or Linebreaker you get +1 game points (as per the Rulebook). It's the same for Warlord traits like Legendary Fighter or The Hunt. For example in the Big Guns Never Tire mission you control 2 objectives and your opponent none. You
got Linebreaker and the opponent First blood and also Linebreaker. You killed two of their heavy support units. You got 6 +1+2 = 9 game points. The opponent got 0+1+1+0=2 game points. The difference is
+7 / -7 so you get 14 game points and the opponent 6.
Army Points Difference (up to 3 battle points)Each player counts the points of destroyed or half strength enemy units, subtracts their own and then consult the table above.
Units destroyedAt the end of the game every unit that has been destroyed is worth an amount of Vicotry Points (VPs) equal to its points cost (including the cost of all its extra wargear, vehicle upgrades, etc). Units that end the game falling back or off the battlefield count as destroyed.
Units at half strength At the end of the game every enemy surviving unit that has lost half of its initial models or more is worth an amount of VPs equal to half its points cost (including the cost of all its extra wargear, vehicle upgrades, etc), rounded down.
In the case of units that start the game as a single model (independent characters, monstrous creatures, etc), they are worth half their points cost in VPs if they have lost half or more of the Wounds on their profile.
In the case of units of 1 vehicle, they are worth half their points cost in VPs if they have lost half or more of its Hull points. In squadrons count each vehicle as a separate unit just for the Old Victory Point System.
MissionsUnless specified, the rules are the same as the Rulebook missions. So in Big Guns Never Tire, heavy support units are scoring units and each player receives 1 game Point for each enemy heavy support unit
that has been completely destroyed.
